MICRO SAAS/003/

Micro SaaS: one problem, one product, recurring revenue

Small software focused on one specific bottleneck in one niche, sold by subscription. Small in scope, not in ambition.

HOW IT WORKS/001/

Micro SaaS

A micro SaaS does one thing for one kind of customer and charges monthly for it. A route optimizer for delivery operations. A listing page a real-estate broker sends on WhatsApp under their own brand. A WhatsApp inbox that distributes conversations across agents. Each solves a bottleneck that a general tool handles badly, for a customer who will pay to have it handled well. The scope is deliberately narrow; that is what makes it buildable, sellable and maintainable by a small team.

ApexDev builds and operates its own — ApexRoute, ApexRealty, ApexChat and others are in production with paying customers — and builds them for founders and companies who have spotted a bottleneck in their market. The process is the same in both cases: validate that the bottleneck is real and paid for, ship an MVP with the core workflow in 8 to 14 weeks, put billing and self-serve onboarding in from day one, and measure activation and retention before adding anything else.

What separates a micro SaaS that grows from one that stalls is rarely the code. It is whether the first version was narrow enough to ship, whether new customers can start without a sales call, and whether the founder can see who activated and who churned. We build those three in from the start, and we hand over a product the founder owns — code, data and the account with every provider.
